Another domain is predictive maintenance. Our in-house concept for cognitive maintenance was developed on the basis of the research project 'Predictive Maintenance – Development of an Industry 4.0-capable technology for functional and process-related design of predictive and intelligent maintenance systems', for which we are one of the implementation partners. This differs from predictive maintenance approaches in that the system learns autonomously and, using the techniques of cognitive computing, is thus one step ahead of conventional solutions.
The machine fails, manual repairs are then performed.
Maintenance is based on production plans, time or operational observations.
Maintenance is based on monitoring to assess the condition of entities.
Defects are predicted based on usage and wear characteristics.
The failure of machines is predicted and counteracted. Therefore, a self-learning system based on the techniques and methods of cognitive cybernetics operates during the life cycle.
